A truly great guitarist

I played with Greg in the "Statics" and know where his roots are. This album should be a must have for anyone interested in the San Francisco music scene of that era. Greg is one of the best guitar players to come out of the Bay Area.

Amazing album !

I have known Greg Douglass in "Terry and the Pirates" and I estimate that he was as important as Cipollina in this band. Now, with this CD, I'm sure that Greg is a great guitar player.
How it's possible that this album is no more popular ?!!

Fine early 70s West-Coast Rock
author: Tom Schryer
Greg Douglas shines here. Greg says he likes this album’s version of “All Worth The Price You Pay” best and that is believable since this one is really fine - although some other versions feature John Cipollina so those are other great versions of this great tune. “Prayers” sounds great here - another of Greg's original tunes. “Maelstrom” sounds so good it could have been recorded yesterday (if someone like Frank Marino had played it). If you miss rock music that is well played, well composed, non-wimpy, and engaging buy a copy of this one and feed the need. I'm playing it a lot.

Great album ! ! !

For what should have been this band's demo in 1973. The musicianship really carries it well. Mallory Earl who mixed this music did a fantastic job. Even though some of the songs sound dated today. Most,if not all of them have radio hit potential. As a musician who also chased that dream when I was young. I relate to the feeling this band Mistress had of giving it your all and being rejected by every one imaginable. The best part of this record is, it grows on you and gets better every time you listen to it. The band was young and really on fire, and it shows in the recording.
Thank You Mistress
