Born and raised in the Boston area, Mistress has been writing Hip-Hop since 1999. Her influences include 2Pac, Dead Prez, Immortal Technique, Lauren Hill, Billie Holiday, Ray Charles, Bob Marley, Damian Marley, Mozart, and Bob Dylan, Boot Camp Clik, Queen Latifah, Rakim, and numerous other great musicians. There are no other artists out there that are able to fuse music\'s past with music\'s present to create the future of music, not just Hip-Hop. It\'s like nothing you\'ve heard before, because it\'s everything you\'ve heard before. It\'s Hip-Hop, Jazz, Classical, and Reggae rolled into one package. It\'s good music that makes you think about what you\'re hearing, and feel what she\'s saying. No Glorified gun-talk, or in-the-club lyrics. When she speaks her mind, she doesn\'t hold anything back, and it shows in her stinging vocals that sometimes are a stark contrast from the harmonies and melodies of the music behind the vocals. Every song on The 2nd Amendment is a different chapter of her life. You won\'t find any filler tracks here. This is Mistress\' first solo album after contributing to 2004\'s Eighteen Angles: The Mixtape, vol. 1.
