Album Notes

something for everyone
nothing for anyone
disclaimer

the story behind this band is as long and uninteresting as behind any other. sure, we can filter it down to something tangible, graspable, possibly even untrue...so, here goes:
misuniverse is a band. misuniverse is the name of that band. choose not to view the name misuniverse as something akin to subjective beauty pageants; rather, at home in the same phylum as misunderstanding, misconduct, misuse, misappropriation, or misfire. in its essence, misuniverse is really just two guys named dim gurevich and kiyanu kim, each with their own set of problems, hardly any solutions, and a whole lot of regret, but i digress...
"ahem, what's the story here? tell us something that would interest us, something PERTINENT!"
sorry homies, nothing of the sort can be offered sincerely on a bio page of some semi-rock band from new york (more specifically from korea and russia). put those silly expectations back in your pants, this isn't the new england journal of medicine, for fuck's sake. if you're a healthy, ADD-stricken consumer like me, you're probably bored to tears the second required reading exceeds say, the list of ingredients on a Jack Link's kippered Teriyaki Beefsteak jerky...
what i mean is, who the hell wants to read nonsensical tripe about what something SOUNDS like? thank me, because you are currently being spared inane verbal descriptions that, if not omitted, would look an awful lot like this (WARNING! not for the adjective-sensitive):
sublime keyboard textures... enchanting sonic landscapes... ethereal, captivating embellishments... unearthly, spell-binding, mesmeric transitions... wraithlike, entrancing, beguiling, engrossing, chord changes... lush, alluring, riveting, absorbing, action-packed arrangements... moving, touching, poignant, affecting, stirring, heartrending, heartbreaking, pitiful?, tender, emotive vocals... steamin' screamin' wailin' swelterin' scorchin' roastin' blisterin', torrid (what, it's in the thesaurus), hot, broilin' searin' scaldin', even bakin' guitar solos...
i warned you - wanting the last 5 minutes of your life back could have easily been avoided by simply listening to some audio samples - remember: a sound (not necessarily that of misuniverse) is worth a thousand pictures. (check out some pictures (each worth a thousand words) at www.misuniverse.net)

In a time when life is so busy & we hardly take notice, misUniverse has created a magical escape through sound. From the lyrics that are simple yet powerful to the music that flows like a waterfall to your soul, I can't wait to hear what they will come up with next.

The songs on this cd are all really good. I listen to it several times on Garage Band before deciding to purchase it. I'm glad I did. I have a broad taste in music, however, accoustic is by far my favorite sound. I'm getting old and mellow and there's nothing on the radio for me to listen too any more. Make more music PLEASE!!!

A good record overall.

I found there to be a couple really good songs on this record, but I was a little disappointed as well. By and large, the record is lyrically and instrumentally strong - creative hooks & wordplay throughout. However, the wispery vocal style became a bit tiring over time; despite this, I feel it's a good record overall.

Finally! An album that you don’t just think about who else it sounds like. Sure you can make a couple of random comparisons, but why bother? This album is just fun to enjoy! Great songs, beautiful lyrics, wonderfully produced, (awesome drumming) just plain WELL DONE! That’s all that can be said. It’s a nice album to have, and share with your friends before everyone knows who they are. I highly recommend buying it!!
