This song is a labor of Love, featuring some of Tucson's finest working musicians. I wrote it shortly after the shootings of January 8, 2011, inspired by the way the people of Tucson responded to this horrifying event with love and unity. Featuring Sabra Faulk on lead vocals and bass, Jo Wilkinson, Cantrell Maryott and Nod Nottingham on backing vocals, Gary Mackender on drums, Mitzi Cowell on guitars, Louie Levinson on pedal steel, Duncan Stitt on organ. The choir is Mitzi, Cantrell, Catherine Zavala, Nancy Bright, To Ree Nee Wolf, Robyn Landis, Don Simpson, and Jeff Simpson. Recorded at Duncan Stitt’s A Writer’s Room, with additional recording by Don Simpson and Mitzi Cowell. Written, arranged, produced and mixed by Mitzi Cowell in Tucson, Arizona. Mastered by Bill Cashman at The Cavern.
