British Born Michael J. Parlett is a soulful and expressive saxophonist/flautist and Producer with over 25 years experience in the music industry.
Michael plays Soprano, Alto, Tenor and Baritone saxes, flute, Piccolo and a collection of Indian flutes and is one of the few who have mastered the WX7 Yamaha wind synthesizer.
'I was originally a drummer and took up the saxophone after listening to my heroes David Sanborn and Grover Washington jr. I used to go and 'hang out' at jam sessions in London and played with some amazing musicians there. Also performed Church where I received a lot of inspiration and training together with playing alongside other more established singers and musicians at concerts and functions.'
Michael subsequently went on to gain a BMus music degree at University of London Goldsmiths College and thereafter a PGCE post graduate teaching Certificate at University of Middlesex and was nominated for the distinctive Arts Council Foundation award.
He has since performed and recorded with some top artists around the world released his solo album project and continues to work as a session musician and producer working from his own studio in London and performing at top venues such as Ronnie Scott's Jazz club, Jazz Café, café Royal, Royal Albert Hall and many other establishments both in the UK and internationally.
Michael is a natural entertainer and entrepreneur who has developed a distinctive style and sound winning him recognition throughout the music fraternity.
On his debut album 'Waiting on you' Michael is ably assisted by some of the top UK session singers and musicians currently on the scene.
