Wont you bring me back
So I can smell the roses
Wont you bring me back
So I can feel the rain
Wrap me up in old glory
Sing amazing grace for me once again.
On a lonely front line just east of Flanders
We were waiting for the morning Sun
I saw him staring in the distance
Waiting for the day that would never come .
He talked about his wife and Babies
Waiting back in some small town
He said I pray each day that passes
That God will guide me back some how.
Chorus
Best I recall
Some time that morning
Incoming fire was very strong
A sniper s cross found that soldier
And sent his soul to the great unknown.
Chorus .
I’m proudly standing to attention
As they move his body from the Plane
The people watch as I salute him
Another soldier ‘s home again
Chorus .
We took him back covered in roses
We took him back in the pouring rain
We wrapped his body in old glory
He got his wish he’s home again.

WHERE WERE YOU .
Where were you in 42
When Hitler killed six million Jews
The world looked on without a sound
No body cared and the world goes round.
Where were you some years on
When we send our boys to Vietnam
Some of them were never found
No body cared and the world goes round.
Where were you on 2001
When they drove our planes into the sun
They knocked our buildings to the ground
Nobody cared and the world goes round.
Where were you just yesterday
When I heard the news man say
Ten young boys died in Iraq
Wont see their bodies coming back
Nobody cared and the world goes round .
Where were you on Veterans Day
Are you the crowds that stayed away
As we wheeled our heroes down the town
Nobody cares and the world goes round.

Getting old
The waves are crashing upon the shore
The wind is blowing from the cliffs of moher
It chills my weary bones as I stand alone
I think im getting old.
In the distance I can see the Sun
Dipping low on some western shore
The devils horns means more wind will come
And im just getting old.
Sometimes
I think I hear
My mother whispering in my ear
I close my eyes and loose all the fear,
Of getting old...
Think of all the people that you knew
That never made it past twenty two
Count your blessings, and then a few
That you’re getting old.
So sing to me your lovely lullaby
Let the fiddler make that fiddle cry
Accept it all, and don’t ask why,
You’re getting old
Accept it all and thank the man on high,
That you’re getting old.
Words and music.
