The muzac (muzak + prozac) concocted for this CDr was originally created with the intent of alleviating the aesthetic discomfort one might experience as an a auditor, visiting a MLuM sound installation entitled Onomatopoem/ Omonanipoeia, presented as part of SoundWalk 2005 in Long Beach, California. However, as process continued, intent mutated, with the result that what was ultimately produced only periodically alleviated aesthetic distress. More often than not, negative side effects, frequently associated with muzak, including irritability, boredom and innocuosis (a psychotic mental blandness similar to catatonia) were induced. At the same time, the unbridled eclecticism, typical of Kitschaesthetik, and mind control were explored and exploited to the extent that what was once intended as muzak had now become pschyotropic art music, persuasive, pervasive and invasive.
