Album Notes

Born and raised in Quebec, music always featured prominently in his life, both as an elixir and a form of expression. He graduated from Bishop’s University with a Music Major, then headed west, settling in Vancouver, B.C., where he discovered he had more to say than could be put into a simple conversation. So he put it into a simple song instead. And he shared that song with a few people, all of whom agreed he should keep “talking”. And so he did.

Mellow tones and a carefully-selected marriage of instrumental accompaniments to his pure acoustics are his hallmark and the singer is reflected in the song as he ponders benchmark rituals that influence all of us.

Musically, Matthew McCully sits comfortably between Elliott Smith and Paul Simon – where the singer is reflected in the song.
