Album Notes

Northern California rock, pop and roots band led by singer-songwriter Mark McLay. Vibrant arrangements, catchy melodies, strong risk-taking vocals, and rich instrumental textures. Pop sensibility with a roots edge.

Includes the lovely and powerful equality of marriage anthem, \"True Love.\"

There’s something unique and somewhat familiar happening when McLay and his fine group of “Devils” pound out their outstanding, solid original tunes. ---Bill Bowker KRSH-FM Santa Rosa, CA

Love and Barbwire

I love this cd. It\'s powerful but also fun and friendly. I\'m not normally a big fan of \"roots rock\" but there\'s just something kind of magical about the way McLay and his band blend rock, country and pop together. Good music that makes you want to be a good person.

Urgent, light, dark, down to earth, deep and insightful are the lyrics of McLay as he weaves his tunes about life, love, the fools around us and the fools inside our heads. The rusty fences that keep people out need to be clipped. With a variety of musical styles that feel both familiar and new the Dust Devils will spin their magic into your heart. The album recorded as live as possible has an open present feel. The more I listen the more I want to take it for another spin.
