Remeber the first time you heard Lynyrd Skynyrd?

 Remember the first time you heard Lynryd Skynyrd or Waylon Jennings? Ever wonder why every Y chromosome has been squeezed out of rock music? Listen to this and rock proud. No two songs on this sound alike. This is debut CD that sounds clean and uncluttered with a little Memphis Soul, a pinch of Nashville, a major dose of Blues and a basting of Bayou Boogie. Listen to this once and try to get these songs out of your head. I double dog dare ya!

Classic Southern and country rock

Recorded with a bunch of studio musicians and self-produced in his very own "WonderDog Sounds" recording studio in Marietta, GA, Mark Michaelson delivers a fine and convincing debut CD. While musically balancing between classic Southern-Rock and Country-Rock on some of the tracks ( opener "Kickstart", the Skynyrd-like riff-rocker "Goodbye Atlanta", "It's a Mistake", and "Leavin’ Wind"), other tunes dig into authentic Blues & Soul territory, with "This Time" being reminiscent of the late great Dru Lombar of Grinderswitch fame. The up-tempo boogies "John Law" and "Man of Constant Sorrow" would perfectly fit on one or another of the early Atlanta Rhythm Section albums, while "Humdinger" and "If" feature a voice and Tony Joe White swamp groove that makes chills go down the listeners' spine. Suited with a great voice that perfectly matches the music, and a strong and down-to-earth production, Michaelson obviously can do nothing wrong on a CD that is covered with a tasty and delicate "Southern Flavor" from the first tune till the last WELL DONE!!
