In 1994, Minister Michael McCoy under the leading of the Holy Ghost began a singing ministry tht purposed to draw souls to Christ and to minister to those who desire to seek the Lord in a committed relationship. The singing style incorporates the contemporary sound but it also maintains the traditional gospel flavor.

In 1994 Voices United was formed with forty voices. In 1998 the group was reorganized with an active membership of twenty-five singers from various churches in the Washington Metropolitan area which included ministers of music, musicians, choir directors, preachers, teachers and evangelists.

On Saturday, August 22, 1998 Voices United recorded their first live CD project entitled Ready, which was released on June 1, 2000.

Voices United has ministered with such artist as: Vickie Winans, Betty Griffith Keller, Donald Lawrence and the Tri-City singers and many more.

In September 2001 Voices United was nominated for the \"Best Local Gospel Group\" in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area by the Minister of Music Threefold Music Group.

Minister Mike McCoy is well noted for his giftedness in writing music and playing the organ. He has had the opportunity to work with some of gospel\'s finest musical giants such as: the late Thomas Whitfield, Donald Lawrence, Shirley Caesar, Timothy Wright, Myrna Summers, Edwin Hawkinss and the lists goes on. Also has song \"We\'ve Come To Priase Him\" was recorded by Bishop Paul S Morton\'s Daughters Of Promise Choir.

Voices United Ministry has determined in their hearts to not be just another singing group, but to minister to the needs of the people. Each year the Lord has allowed the group to work with the Department of Social Services to sponsor families during the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays.
