Album Notes

MNB, based in New Jersey, formed in 1997 with an attempt to create interesting instrumental music. After a successful release of their first record "Dwell", MNB continued working on their experimental sound eventually resulting in the self title CD "MNB".

The band consists of Alf Bartone and Ron Paige switching off on electric bass, Bob McHugh on piano and sax, Erik McHugh on acoustic and electric guitar, and Dan Nolan on drums and percussion.

MNB's latest CD contains 10 new tunes and all of "Dwell" (MNB's first release).

The songs are a mix of rock, jazz, and folk. With influences ranging from The Smiths to John Coltrane.

MNB's sound is based on free improvisational melody over a groove oriented rhythm section.
