ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
Well, what can we say about Nikolai and his NikosKids Project? He makes music that comes from the heart and goes to the heart, music that speaks to kids and adults alike, music that you can sing along to and music for dancing.
Most of the songs on \"Tabula Rasa\" are based on experiences in child-rearing and observations about Nikolai\'s daughter and the munchkins he teaches. His music is basic, unpretentious and the opposite of condescending (is there a word for that?). Best of all, while it remains accessible and fun to the little ones, it retains an energy and a complexity of real sounds that make the listening experience enjoyable to adults as well.
And last but by no means least, it\'s pretty funky, there\'s quite a bit going on rhythmically on this record that you may not be accustomed to hearing on a children\'s recording. how refreshing!
