notes
Steve Davidson and Ken Kozdra fronted the pop rock band The Modes, and helped to put the Boston music scene back in the national spotlight in the late 80¹s. Their catchy yet sophisticated and eclectic style of rock eventually caught the eye of top industry producers, agencies and managers and culminated with a major label signing. Due to the volatile nature of the music industry their recordings were never released... UNTIL NOW!!!
GB Music Ltd. presents to you (finally!) "The Modes Legacy Collection -1980-1986." This CD contains 15 rock/pop gems that represent everything from their Muscle Shoals major label sessions to their own self-produced tuneful rockers.
See for yourself why The Modes should of been a hit making band of a musical era we all loved. Sure, listen to the sound clips, but if you are a true 80's pop rock fan you're 'gonna want to own this one!
If you were a fan of bands such as Cheap Trick, Duran Duran, The Fixx, 38 Special, Bryan Adams, Paul McCartney and Wings, The Cars, Crowded House, Tears For Fears and Hall and Oates YOU WILL LOVE THE MODES!!

Finally!! A Modes CD!!
author: Ellen CassellI saw The Modes at The Ritz in NYC back in their heyday with The Romantics. The Modes blew everyone away. I was amazed to find their CD all these years later. They are fabulous song writers. This CD is really good! I'm surprised they never got big in the 80's.
Put the top down, crank the CD player!
author: Mike SolomonGreat melodies / great hooks. I love every song on the CD. It's great for playing while you're driving in the car.
Is it too late 2 B a Modes fan?
author: Luv4All80So fun! Check out The Modes if you like post-skinny tie rock, catchy songs and skilled pop craftsmanship. How can the previous reviewer not think they rule? Must be a psycho groupie that a Modes member rejected.
My new favorite tunes
author: rokstah88I found The Modes by way of an internet station called FlashbackAlternatives.com and HAD to have their CD. This is one of the best 80's bands I never heard. I love "How Can We Say Goodby" - a classic melody. So many songs that have me singing along. Lovin' The Modes!!
Greatest Hits that never were!
author: CDFiendThis CD is amazing because it sounds like a greatest hits collection and yet none of these songs were ever hits. How did the record companies have totally missed the boat on The Modes?! Anyway, I'm glad that I discovered them.
Cool Pop!
author: Karen KeithThis is a fun CD to listen to. They must have been together a long time, because they seem to have a few different styles. I like the big production numbers, New Marrionette, Bad Risk. Television is funny too. This CD was worth discovering.
Loved this CD!
author: bigbeatleboyThe Modes were on par with any of the hit bands of the 80's. Really fine, humable rock songs. Kind of Cheap Trick sometimes, kind of Todd Rundgren, kind of Badfinger meets Duran Duran meets The Fixx meets The Cars. I Like it!!!
Smart, catchy, well crafted pop rock!
author: poppyroxWow! Where were The Modes when we needed them in the 80's?!! Hey pop lovers... do yerself a favor and buy this CD. The Modes knew how to write catchy, rockin melodies!
The best Pop duo since Lennon /Macartney
author: Bill RoyWonderfully hip for the times, clever lyrics screaming guitar solos! I had the good fortune to hear this band live during their heyday in Boston. Their studio sound on this CD is very polished but you still can hear Steve Davidson's guitar riffs just itching to get loose. Ken Kozdra's voice is as always very strong and his guitar work blends well with Steve's. The true artistry of this band is the blending of both Kozdra and Davidson's vocals with catchy melodies and true to life pop lyrics which makes this CD a must have for all 80's music afficianados.
