Mothers and Daughters, two mothers in their 50s with their 30something daughters, weave a beautiful healing tapestry of a cappella sound from the songs of their lives - whether Balkan (Sto Mi e Milo), Classical (Salve Virgo Virginum), contemporary (Angel from Montgomery), or original (Ode to a Public Hearing, by our dear friend Sheila Hahn). This little gem of an album offers wonderful songs as well as the gorgeous blend of their voices. Individually each woman has a distinct and beautiful voice, but when harmonizing together, something more than the sum of their parts floats through the air, touching all who hear. Mothers and Daughters are: Stephanie Lusak and her daughter Eva Carpenter, and Jessie Modic and her daughter Sarah McGreevy. The album cover is a fantastic piece of art by Margarite Seinen, entitled "Pacific Halleluiah."

this album contains one of the most magical songs I have ever heard -- anything is possible and everything occurs. the first time i heard it, in these beautiful close and interesting harmonies, all the hair on my head and neck stood on end and tears sprang into my eyes. On the bus, yet. Wow.
