Album Notes

Aargh! Pirates, Selkies, mermaids and fisherfolk sing and play their way through this fantastic collection of sea-songs and sea-stories. With fiddles, harp, flute and children's voices, you'll dance around the room and laugh with joy. The music is tradtional Celtic and Classical gems from the 14th - 18th centuries, and the stories are quirky favorite's from Jessie's elementary school classrooms. Jessie Modic, teacher, fiddler, storyteller and singer, has brought forth this third CD in her much acclaimed "musical stories series." The two stories feature a Pirate crew who has adopted two Selkie children (Pirate's Promise - the Story of Weedy and Shelly), and a greedy fisherman who finds a magic song for attracting fish (Saltarello - a Tuneful Tale). Jessie fiddles, narrates and sings, along with her wonderful singer daughter Sarah Mcgreevy, and local child star Isabel Maggiani. "Saltarello - Songs and Stories" has received a Parents Choice 2004 approved award, and three Childrens Music Web awards. "...absolutely lovely ...a fun, toe-tapping theme album" - School Library Journal, April 2005
