the main offender started making songs on his parents' computer back in 2000 under various aliases and spent a few years improving upon his sound before finally deciding to stick with the name "the main offender." He released one album (titled "Major Malfunction") to limited listenership, and now he's back a year and a half later to rock and/or roll you with his masterpiece, "Escape From Normalcy." The album is a concept album, which represents the thoughts of a person whose synapses are constantly misfiring and triggering random thoughts, ideas, and memories. This person then follows the ideas to what might seem like a logical conclusion before having another synapse misfire and going down another trail of thought patterns. In the music on this album, we see the world through various different filters and it represents the way one person sees things. On the first track track of the album, we hear the common sounds of a person sitting alone in a bed room, using their computer, and over the course of the album this evolves into a dream sequence that could only happen on another world. Along the way, we are shown the majesty of things which are normally associated with commonality. This album was mixed and mastered by Kevin Deal, aka Bexarametric. the main offender also has other projects in the works at the moment, one of which is a remix EP for his track "offender man," which should be available for purchase sometime in the near future.

Flows well, great atmosphere. Highly recommended.

TMO's Electro/IDM Escape From Normalcy is relentlessly creative throughout; from the bleepy video game soundtrack "Offender Man" thru the gorgeous mellow electro "The Rain in Spain" to the plain mentalist "LHOOQ", and melodic "Count Chocula". Sounds remind me of artists on the Planet Mu label. This album creates atmosphere then draws you into a new world as each track passes. I seriously recommend it.
