The Mohawk Valley Blues Society’s compilation CD, Mohawk Valley Blues; Volume One, is a reflection from a number of dedicated musicians from the Mohawk Valley in Central New York, all members of the society. Their ideas and interpretations of one of the oldest American musical art forms can be heard "in every shade of blue", including both original compositions and interpretations of standards.
The Mohawk Valley Blues Society was founded in March 2005 by an enthusiastic group of area blues and roots music fans. The organization got off to a strong start. By hosting monthly blues jams, and presenting concerts by the Holmes Brothers, C.J. Chenier and the Red Hot Lousiana Band, Coco Montoya, Duke Robillard and Jerry Portnoy, Little Charlie and the Nightcats, the blues society has brought a new energy to the region.
The CD was co-produced by MVBS chairman Rob Bishton and member George Deveny, and features the area’s top blues artists, and includes 15 tracks, both original and cover tunes, all recorded by MVBS members.

Great Blues. All local artists--locally recorded. Good Harmonica players especially. I'll look for their next one.
