Mark Mohrlang led worship at University Presbyterian Church in Seattle, Washington. Over the past several years, a vision was born to record many of the hymns that he (and others that lead with him) had reset, or rocked-up a bit. A handful of new songs that he and a couple friends had written combined in the mix to create "Letters from a Prisoner of Hope," a reference to Zechariah 9:12.
This album features Justin Gatewood M.D., on piano, longtime partner-in-funk with Mark. Justin's style is heavily influenced by Bruce Hornsby, but with some beautiful melodic tendencies (aka Coldplay, Keane, etc.).
Also appearing are Alex Paul, Shelby Earl, Beth Olsen, Neal Vickers, Jeremy Bennett, Ross McMeekin, Noel Paul, Scot Mortimer, and Ryan Davis. Brian Pearce and Jesse Stuart engineered the album.
It's our hope that you enjoy these songs, and that they cause you to sing loudly in your car, and to worship our Lord, wherever you may be found.

Great songs...great arrangements...wonderful focus on the Lord.
author: Matt Drumm
Most of the tracks on this cd are modern arrangements of some classic hymns. The integrity of each hymn is intact, but they have some fresh ideas for these standards. I enjoed the other tracks as well, particularly the lyrics. The musical performance is also good, as well as the recording quality. Overall, the cd conveys a real love and appreciation for Jesus Christ.
