Originating from Cape Cod, MA. ,Shawn is an accomplished guitar player for over 20 yrs. At the age of 19, Shawn hit the road and toured with influential bands like Vudu-Mental-Heirdu, Kenaniah's Groove, and LRS recording band Mutha-Funker. Shawn has been called to audition for The Black Crowes, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, and The Super Sonic Soul Pimps out of Seattle. Tempting, but not his vision of being an independent artist and letting the world know just how funky he is. This multi-Talented musician not only played every instrument on the cd, he wrote, arranged, produced, and recorded the songs in his own studio, The Green Den. Shawn hired one hot drummer/percussionist,who threw down some flavorful beats to MOKAs diverse, and funky sound. Yes I said Funky! soulful vocals, colorful guitars, fat bass, cool horns, man! Let's not forget the monster beats. This cd projects life, the writing has imagery, wit and fun and like I said before the music is based on funky grooves. Check MOKA out, it's exciting and fresh.
