In the beginning Mystery
Gathered up the darkness
And planted a seed.
The seed blossomed forth in a great living Light

We are part of an amazing journey, a journey that began with a cosmic seed. We humans sprang from the same stuff as the stars. The same water that fills the oceans flows in our veins. The same elements in the stones form our bones. The same fiery spirit that animates all the creatures that inhabit the Earth burns in each one of us. Life is breath. We are breath. The Universe is unfolding, emerging, flowering. We are the Universe; we are the same. One.

BE A LIGHT is a story in song that celebrates the journey from, through, and back to unity. As we have traveled on this journey at times we have forgotten our beginnings. We have forgotten who we are. The pendulum has swung toward separation, toward living as if we were apart from the Earth. So we have suffered. But we have also learned.

Deep in the soul resides the memory of One. In this new millennium, this new age, the pendulum swings again, back to the memory of oneness -- not the "unself"-conscious knowing of our early ancestors -- but the conscious knowing of mind merged with the passion of the heart and the ancient knowing of the soul.

We are remembering who we are -- light, being and becoming light. We are choosing to participate with courage and compassion in this great unfolding story.

BE A LIGHT was originally envisioned as a musical - a live production with singable songs, many voices, and dance. I wanted to create something that would allow others to reconnect with this awesome, inspiring journey of which we are a part. Note: BE A LIGHT contains seven new songs plus seven songs that can also be found on my earlier CD, TEACHINGS FROM THE SPIRITS. All songs, however, were originally written with BE A LIGHT in mind.

At various times in my life, I've been a lawyer, educator, video producer, technical writer, and essayist. For 15 years I worked with a non-profit foundation concerned with issues of unity -- our fundamental oneness with each other, with other living beings and with the natural world -- and the practical implications for our daily lives. Currently I am studying shamanism, an ancient healing practice, writing songs (joy!), and writing fiction to entertain and inspire. I live in the San Francisco area with my husband and various furry companions.
