Album Notes

Visitors to Molly's YouTube channel have called her voice "beautiful and haunting" and her harp playing "very delicate, gentle, and warm". She plays with a deft, dynamic touch and sings in a clear soprano voice infused with emotional honesty and sensitivity. "Maid on the Shore" is an homage to Molly’s musical and cultural influences; the songs chosen for the album explore themes of love, trust and betrayal, faith and faithlessness. Though primarily made up of traditional Irish, Scottish, and English songs and tunes, the album features several contemporary pieces, including two originals by Molly and a fiery arrangement of a bellydancing tune composed by Seattle harper Beth Kollé. Molly's voice and harp are at the heart of the album, but she is accompanied on several tracks by Seattle folk-rock mainstay John Peekstok, as well as percussionist Scott Mercado, flautist Sarah Bost and vocalist Richard Hill.

"Molly's got a lovely, light touch on the harp and her voice rides a great line between classically trained and folk-informed." --Devon Leger, Hearth Music
