The Mollys, from Tucson, Arizona, deliver a compelling mix of "tangled roots" music combining country, Tex-Mex and bluegrass with a rock and roll drive. The five-piece group uses three-part vocals with accordion, guitar, tin whistle, banjo, bouzouki and harmonica backed by driving electric bass and drums. The Mollys have toured the U.S., Canada, Australia and Italy, earning rave reviews for Nancy McCallion's stunning songwriting and the bands spirited performances.

I'm not a polka fan, really- but this isn't really polka. What an eclectic mix of Celtic, blues, country & western! The harmonies are great and the melody lines interesting and varied. The lyrics are well written and well sung. Looks like I need to buy the rest of The Mollys' albums!

This CD, though containing a suprising amount of polka beats was pretty good. I'm not usually a fan of polka, but this CD is growing on me. Check it out!

It's absolutely true: the best music is on independent labels. And The Mollys have a sound that satisfies. If you claim to be a fan of great music, you've got to have their recordings. Wow!
