notes
From epic sets on highand pipes and fiddle, to angelic folk songs over bouzouki and mandola, to ripping sets of Irish jigs and reels, the lads of Molly's Revenge have expanded their range on this, their seventh release.
For this stunning album they enlisted the help of award winning vocalist and accordionist Moira Smiley. Known nationally for her groundbreaking work with contemporary vocal group VOCO, Moira has proven her traditional skills by
winning the West/Midwest USA Division of the All-Ireland Singing Championship.
"The Western Shore" was produced by John Doyle, a founding member of Irish supergroup Solas. Guest performers include percussionist Fraser Stone (Old Blind Dogs) and John Doyle.
"This recording showcases the confidence and enthusiasm in their playing and their maturity as a group. Their diligence to the tradition has produced this fine collection of material--old and new--which fans of Celtic music are sure to embrace." --John Doyle
“The instruments are traditional... but the wild passion they exhibit is thoroughly modern.” — MetroSantaCruz (CA)

John Weed: fiddles, vocals
Pete Haworth: bouzouki, vocals

This album is marvelous and was perfect for my morning run today. Molly's Revenge just gets better with every release. Just like at their live performances, you can't help feeling energized and recentered by this wonderful music.
The Western Shore
author: Chuck and CarolThis album was all we expected and more. One can almost see the energy of these guys (and a gal now too!). We enjoy 'em live, and this is almost like having them in the living room. But it and enjoy it!

author: PamelaFantastic! An excellent selection of songs, brilliantly done. Moira Smiley's beautiful, clear voice is a lovely addition on this album. Molly's Revenge remains my favorite Celtic band. Not only are they fine musicians but their passion for their music always shines through. Thanks for another fine album, laddies!
The Western Shore
author: Lawson CannonMolly's Revenge continues to push the envelope, playing acoustic Celtic music with more skill AND more spirit than most other bands in their genre put together! The new CD far surpasses all of the others, and they were superb. It shows more depth of interpretation and also more breadth of versatility and variety. It is most exciting and encouring for fans and musicians to see a group continue to improve, both technically and as an ensemble. Bravo for fantastic job!

author: DonAnother great album. Raise the rafters is great too! These guys have put together an album with a great variety of music that is all excellent. No cutting a track or two that just don't measure up to the rest. Obviously I just loved this one! I hope they do another soon.
