Ladies and gentleman – a few words about Music, the Inuit and Molotov USK. It shouldn’t be considered ironic that it was the great philosopher and healer Albert Schweitzer who once mused, “There are only two means of refuge from the misery of life – music and cats.”…Now hold your horses for a second…the first part is self evident, and the latter, well, I, for one, am pretty sure I know what the good doctor was getting at. Remember, this man lived in less enlightened, prosaic times, when language stunted. Which leads us to the Inuit, everyone knows these fellows have hundreds of words for snow. But, are you aware, naught a one for music? They have no word for…sorry, I should have said, “had”. Copies of Molotov USK’s latest release, THE GREAT TASTE – it’s been reported by reliable non-Eskimo sources – have been circulating Nunavut…well, let’s just say, the northern latitudes are heating up, and in a hurry…and you can look that up.
Ladies and gentleman – allow me to present Dave Leonard – axeman extraordinaire, slash and burn his modus vivendi; no quarter offered or asked his pledge – fire and ice at his fingertips.
On percussion, Winchester the Bruce, AKA The Lord of The Raw Hide Dragon.
Rob … the soul corner of the quartet – the bass a mere extension of his seminal imagination.
And, on vocals and rhythm guitar – the man who arm-wrestled Prometheus and won; unfortunately, he lost 2 of 3 in Roman-Greco to Zeus. No matter and no denying it, he has his hand, somehow, gripped firmly upon the Thunderbolt! Ladies and Gentleman, Peter Lyons.
Together, they are – a freight train hauling six metre waves and rivers running deep; whiskey kegs, beer barrels and hot tubs; insurrection, revolution and resurrection – firing full tilt, no brake installed, across arctic glaciers and desert plains, through canopy jungle and onwards toward the mountain canyon with the bridge out – in other words: MOLOTOV.USK…if you’re still sitting, stand up now! That way, in the lucid light of days to come, you’ll be able to, with some confidence, declare that it was all of your own free will.
And now, nostrum seekers, MOLOTOV.USK presents – THE GREAT TASTE!

This is one of teh reasons to celebrate a crippled US dollar. You can buy CDS like the above for a fraction of what you would be willing to pay should you realise how great the CD is. The first song will have you trapped in a state whereby you will be unwilling to move onto the next song. It's melody will trap you somewhere where you have an inability to stop pressing the repeat button like a 13 year old who has discovered FM104. But once you mature to listen to the rest of the songs you'll be very glad you bought the album...and be asking the band things like When is your next album? Where can i see you live? What kind of undercrackers do you wear?

This is such a great album. I have a problem with a lot of todays music but this does take me back to some similar sounds of Black Sabbath and Deep Purple. It's almost like a revival of the greatest sounds. Such talent needs to come to Australia for a tour. Fantastic sound on the Police Don't Like Us track. This album should suit some older rockers too. GREAT

Awesome album! This is the "thinking man's Wolfmother". Next time I am in Japan I am definitely going to see these guys live. It’s hard to choose a favourite track but I think that it would be Astronaut..or maybe Politiks. If you like gritty rock with a cerebral edge then you should check out this album.
