A chance meeting at a benefit concert and the discovery that they both share the same love for Hip Hop as well as the talent to make great things happen is what ultimately led to the ILLA Team's Caligrafi and Young Gooch's decision to create together. It became more and more clear that the energy they generated made the merging of these remarkable artists inevitable, almost necessary, and so The Money Train was born....
After putting out many successful mix tapes, building a steadily growing fan base and completing his first solo album, this project was the perfect opportunity to take things to a new dimension for LA native Caligrafi, or Cali as he is also known. With almost 10 years experience in the industry, he has laboured tirelessly to perfect his craft. After founding the ILLA Team with his cousin and best friend Dre.com, whom he unfortunately lost in a car accident, he has managed to forge a path of recognition, gaining critical acclaim from his peers and the streets. His remarkable word play and story telling ability caters to everyone and his western drawl has the ability to draw each person that listens to him, into his mind....
With a very successful single and solo project, already under his belt, Young Gooch has already proven that he has the potential to be a heavy contender in the industry. Originally from Seattle, he started to recognise that he had a unique ability with words from the age of 7 but it wasn't until he moved to Italy in 2001 that he actually began to take it seriously and utilise it. There he managed to gain a notoriety that had him flying all over the US just to record verses on mix tapes, these mix tapes in turn sold thousands. With a technique and sound that leaves you no choice but to become excited, Gooch will continue to have many a head nodding....
When two extraordinary forces of nature combine you can only assume that the result will be something groundbreaking, and with individual styles that perfectly compliment the other and a scarily accurate aptitude for writing hit songs, you certainly won't be disappointed....If Marvin Gay and Teddy Pendergrass were to make an album this is what it would sound like!!
