Album Notes

The Monikers sound has come into it's own on their new album, Esperanto. The songwriting is still catchy, but with more detailed textures and layers. It will still make you dance, but maybe you'll feel like less of an idiot.

The first track, From the Background, starts with an explosive synth festival and blossoms into a tasty morsel of straight forward pop-rock. Its anthemic chorus and intense instrumental bits are sure to please even the most un-pleasable.

Next up is Never Sleep, a more angular dancey tune, with a catchy bass riff and stylish drums intertwining in musical ecstasy!!

The title track, Esperanto, is an exploration of more laid-back musical textures than fans of The Monikers might be used to. This languid sonnet metamorphoses into a heroic ending fit for a monarch!!

A deadly synth precludes the snarky I Know You Want Me (But Just For My Body). This dancey number segues into an atmospheric instrumental which will calm your soul, but only temporarily.

Reset Generation, the single from the album is a catchy and beat-heavy indie-rock tune with righteous guitar work and a handclappy bridge. It extols the virtues of not caring what you look like out on the dancefloor.

When I Lose my Head is a British sounding pop tune with an especially catchy chorus and funkably fresh beat!!

The album ends with the introspective retrospect of The Sun. If you aren't in tears by the end of this album, your heart is cold.
