Album Notes

Monkee Torture is a punk-metal band featuring four screwballs from Eugene, Oregon: Dr. Glenn Christpuncher on guitar/vocals, Marky Torture on drums, Thrillington Rockingham Crimes on guitar/vocals, and Baron Von Torture on bass/vocals.

We play music inspired by old, good, authentic punk rock. If we had to name some of our influences, the Ramones, Sloppy Seconds, Adolescents, and Turbonegro immediately come to mind. But that's just scratching the tip of the iceberg. Over time, our music has gradually adopted more metal influences: Iron Maiden, Twisted Sister, Dio, and Motorhead, to name a few. Suffice to say, if you enjoy primal, raucous, comedic punk rock mixed with a hearty dose of triumphant, harmonious dork-metal, you will dig Monkee Torture.

Most band "bios" are extremely self-serving and full of ludicrous bravado. Ours is no exception! The wise-cracking duo of Glenn and Baron Von Torture formed the band in 2001. Monkee Torture's current lineup came together about a year ago. Since then we've been playing constantly; rocking out with our proverbial (and real) cocks out; and lambasting crowds around the Northwest with our scathing, turbulent live shows and self-deprecating humor. We've been lucky enough to share the stage with lots of great local and national acts, including The Adz (ex members of the Adolescents & 45 Grave), Camarosmith (ex-Zeke), Groovie Ghoulies, Hell's Belles, The Independents, The Hangmen and the Load Levelers.

Monkee Torture's first full-length album, Too Cheap For Vinyl, was released in 2003. We aim to release two new discs in 2004: a new Monkee Torture EP, and Baron Von Torture's long-awaited solo EP.
