If James Dean, Elvis, John Wayne and Marilyn Monroe were in a diner together, Rick Monroe would be the guy playing on the jukebox.
This "blue jean country-rock n' roller" claims inspiration from icons like Garth Brooks, Mellencamp, and the Allman Brothers. A Florida native, the rugged singer/songwriter began his trek into the musical realm as a "search for inner happiness" and to "present a point of view that is at once autobiographical and universal." The result of this man's journey is strong, compelling music that just screams American Country-Rock. So much so, in fact, Monroe and his L.A.-based band were invited by the Department of Defense to tour and perform at United States military bases in the Balkans (former Yugoslavia) last Thanksgiving. Monroe humbly accepted, and traveled by military transport from base to base, lightening the spirits of Americans serving overseas. This summer Rick and his band will be playing the Hanoi Opera House per the request of the US Ambassador to Vietnam.

Good Debut Album

First things first, the song Life Goes On In L.A. is timeless. Great music, vocals and moving lyrics. This song, as well as others including Barbie's Got a Jones, Day By Day,That Thing You Do, etc. make up a remarkable pop/rock album that deserves your attention.
