When Monroe Alfrey's son Simon was born, he picked up his guitar and began singing to him. Over time, traditional tunes gave way to songs written just for Simon - full of whimsy and parental feeling. Friends and family overheard these songs and urged Monroe to record them. The result is the 10-song CD "Simon's Pond", which garnered national acclaim and awards in its original 1996 release.
"Simon's Pond" makes delightful family listening, with 10-sing-along pop-style original songs like "Daddy's Tools," "The Monkey and the Lion," and "Whimsical Dr. Imsical." The title song is a tribute to Alfrey's son, Simon.
