Album Notes
The Monster Big Band is a collection of the finest jazz and commercial musicians from the Austin area. Members of the local area bands Mingo Fishtrap, Los Jazz Vatos, The Lucky Strikes, The Atlantics, Duck Soup, Rotel and the Hot Tomatoes, The Stingers and The Scabs come together to play hard driving swing with an attitude. Sit back, strap in, and enjoy the wall of sound that is the Monster Big Band !!!

Absolutely xcellent!! Bought it again for yrt another friend. I've shared this CD w/ several friends now. That's my review!! Particulary liked the Led Zep piece.

Monster Big Band Live at the Ruta Maya Coffee House.
An excellent CD. Those who love Big Band jazz, or any jazz for that matter will be impressed. The ensemble plays a very tight set with a loud, full and raunchy sound flavor. The vocal numbers are superb, being great standards, and the band surprises with some eclectic versions of some Hard Rock Classics ("War Pigs" and the Zep medley--"Get The Led Out") I love this CD.
