Album Notes

MONTA BIO:

Their music is a story of brothers working it out as brothers do best. Dedric Moore and Delaney Moore are the manipulators sharing their passion for dub, blunted jazz, post-rock, ambient and abstract funk. Monta have been producing under that moniker since 1999. Before that, both members were part of several electronic outfits since 1995. They cut their teeth playing live shows at the local rock and electronica clubs before buckling down as primarily a studio band and taking Monta to stereophonic bliss. Monta are releasing their debut cd, Unsuspecting, April 24th, 2005.

Citrona Recordings has released Monta tracks on two of their EP's and Crater Technology Recordings released two Monta tracks on their label compilation a few years back.

Montamusic is the label started by Dedric Moore and Delaney Moore as a way to release their music free from any constraints or concerns for market preference. It is set up to release tracks for all moods, especially those dark melancholic songs Monta does so well. Monta has set out on a mission to explore ideas with the mindset that everything is open for inclusion in their musical spectrum. Monta have also set a goal to ignore the urge to move the dancefloor and make music purely for the listening experience...

Monta has performed with John Creamer, Monk from Rabbit in the Moon, DJ Ray Velasquez, Wally Callero, DJ Punc Roc and Skylab 2000, just to name a few. The next live shows will feature several additions to the lineup to create an exciting show with additional live players and videowork.
