Album Notes

Supreme Meal is a collection of nine original songs written by John Monterisi and recorded over 2001 with his band, Hipsocket and some special guests. Monterisi's music experiments with mixing different styles --- rhythm and blues, swing, latino and country --- and features strong vocal performances and harmonies by four singers.

The CD also benefits from the very solid guitar work of New England bluesman Peter Parcek. The band, Hipsocket, has played clubs in and around the Boston area for the last ten years.

Monterisi says, "The title for this CD came from a book by a former zen monk who set up a baking business to help the poor. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of our CD will benefit the Friends of Boston's Homeless. If you 'cook' only for yourself, you will never be satisfied."
