Album Notes

Mooter is a collective though this album only involves the 1997 trio and studio equipment. The music on this album was performed from 1996 to 1998 between Minneapolis and New York City. Venues include CBGB's, the Knitting Factory, the Melody Bar (new brunswick, nj), and the Bug Jar (rochester, ny).

The songs were strongly influenced by Naked City, Frank Zappa, the Boredoms, Mr. Bungle, Henry Threadgill, firehose, minutemen, and the Minneapolis hardcore and noise core environment.

The music on this album is very unique and enjoyable once you get over the initial shock. That shock may be akin to mixing the nowave group DNA with Shudder To Tthink and Primus. Let's just say it's different. The drummer is extremely hyper and overly out of control while the bassist/saxaphonist has temper issues. As for the guitarist/composer/singer, he uses three amps of varied conditions and a blown rythm pickup with various effects and a guitar synth. The overall sound is like a style mixer performed by kids on uppers. It's a kick to the head and to the funny bone. If it wasn't so sloppy in a Skingraft or Gang of Four way it might be confused for progrock or mathrock. Whether you really like the album or not, it stands out as creative, intelligent, rowdy, other-worldly, irreverent, and useful in any CD collection. [jindra]

The radar threat will bring his moogs and pro one with an array of delay samplers, phasors and distortions all mixed up into his atari fit. jindra will be triggering samples with his guitar synth and doing real-time manipulations thru midi as well as thru voltage pedals into a set of mooger-foogers.
