"This Is Our Moosic is another stellar offering from one of today's most vibrant young ensembles. Mostly Other People Do the Killing travel through the history of jazz, re-contextualizing the past with an impertinent wit that keeps the music fresh and alive. - Troy Collins
"Loud, brash, cutting edge, these boys nevertheless display a method to their madness. That has to do with them letting the pieces seek their own level. Thus, a particular tune may undergo any number of fantastic metamorphoses—everything from boogaloo to military march to western swing to roadhouse blues to free romp to samba. Yes, it’s all rather hectic, and confusing, especially at first. But after a few listens, a crazy kind of logic begins to emerge, as well as surprising musical horizons of stark beauty: zaniness with a purpose. He who has an ear, let him hear." - Jan P. Dennis

MOPDtK continue where they left off on "Shamokin!!!" (highly recommended) with another great album, still blending jumpy Dixieland-style melodies with avant garde sensibilities and wit that can be attributed to anyone from Monk to, heck, Pavement. This time they've added some darker themes here and there, which broadens the emotional scope of the record. It's kind of punk, really, and very, very good. Oh, and there's a brilliant cover of Billy Joel's "Allentown" at the end.
