Album Notes

Local VT rocker Morgan Lamphere, (formerly the drummer, turned lead guitarist for the “hiatused” hometown favorites Named By Strangers), has released his solo debut album titled, “Morgan Lamphere ‘Native & The Deconstruction’”. Lamphere, a multi-instrumentalist, lays down all the vocal and instrumental tracks himself on this rock album save a few guest appearances by Burlington guitar hero Dave Diamond (Dave Grippo Funk Band, Turkey Bouillon Mafia), jamband ambassador Brian Lauri (Liquid Dead, Miracle Train) on Keyboards, lap steel legend Adam Frehm (Smokin’ Grass) and madman bassist Peter Bixby (Named By Strangers).
Morgan Lamphere’s music is haunting while familiar with psychotic, yet soulful lyrics that evoke love & escape, loss & death and all the trials & tribulations of a misfit musician. Morgan Lamphere is influenced by many styles and genres, and you can hear such bands as Blind Melon, Beck, Pink Floyd, Medeski, Martin & Wood, as well as referencing contemporaries Spookie Daly Pride, Bright Eyes, and local legend Jeremy Harple all seeping into his musical style.
Morgan Lamphere’s live band consists of the aforementioned Sir Brian Lauri on keys, J.D. Smith on bass(Miracle Train), and Owen Price (Turkey Bouillon Mafia) on drums with very special guests in store. Support Independent Musicians and pick up Morgan Lamphere’s –Native & The Deconstruction. Check out www.myspace.com/morganlamphere for music previews, tourdates, news, blogs, and pictures. Cds will be coming soon to local VT stores, just ask them. Peace…
