Album Notes

The Morningsides went through an agonizing reappraisal before recording their latest full length effort \"The Issue\". Loss of trust and innocence, loss of belief about the meaning of home, but no loss of hope mark the troubled warmth of their sophmore release. With equal parts joyous serenading and brooding contemplation, The Morningsides play classic country-tinged rock for the outlaw with the heart of a helpless romantic. \"The Issue\" is for those who like to smile at everyday life gone wrong.

Everyone has an ISSUE, don't you?!
author: Brandon Penzkover
I fell in love with the Morningsides the first time I heard Fiberoptic Rock. It had elements of rock, pop, electronica and more. Much, much more. This was music for people who love music without limits or boundaries. Don't get me wrong. Some may find the music and lyrics strange or unusual. But it was not unfamiliar or difficult to listen to. Fast forward to 2006. The Album: HEARTH Once again, the Morningsides nailed it, but in a different way. They somehow managed to bring together sarcasm and depth in their lyrics, without forgetting the most important thing, great music, melodics and sound. Hearth is not pop, rock, country nor experimental, it is all of the above! The talents of each individual musician are clearly evident. The sum of the parts is greater than the whole. I can detect no ego's at work when I listen to the Morningsides. Now for the moment you've all been waiting for... THE ISSUE is not by any means a compromise. It is, however, a very well put together coherent album. I cannot pick a favorite Morningsides song, because they are all so great in their own way. But if I had to pick a favorite CD, it would be THE ISSUE. And when the next one comes out, it will be my favorite too. Do your ears a favor and download the Morningsides from tomperona.com and iTunes
