Morris Goldberg was born in Cape Town South Africa, and grew up listening to indigenous music and American jazz. He is a featured artist on Paul Simon's Graceland album - pennywhistle solo on "You can Call Me Al". He was also the woodwind specialist on the Rosie O'Donnell Show for its six year duration. This album features Anton Fig on drums - David Letterman Show, Bakithi Kumalo, bass and Tony Cedras keyboards, of Graceland fame.
The songs are uplifting celebrations of the South African American connection called "Safrojazz". There are two vocals featuring Branice McKenzie.

Great music from a South African Legend!
author: Ralph Sappington
This is a great CD for those who love the rhythms and harmony of South African Township jazz. Morris Goldberg plays both sax and pennywhistle and is joined by other great musicians including Anton Fig from Late Night With Dave Letterman fame, bassist Bakithi Kumalo featured with Hugh Masekela and Tony Cedras who has toured with Paul Simon. I really enjoyed the tune "Spokes" a pennywhistle feature and tribute to Spokes Mashiyane the premier pennywhistle player from South Africa. All in all a wonderful recording from a wonderful artist who has done so much for South African musicians.
