Excellent performances

This is a collection of really stunning performances of some really difficult and challenging pieces, both from a performer's perspective and the listener's. Unfortunately the liner notes include nothing about the recording itself; I'm curious as to where the performances were recorded and so on - the hall sounds suspiciously digital to me at moments, although that shouldn't deter anyone from purchasing what may be the best recordings of these works to date.
