We're eager to share the music of Mosaic Harmony with you. Like our thousands of loyal fans, you'll love our music, our message, and our mission: unifying the world, one song at a time.
As a multi-faith, interracial choir, we draw on the rich heritage of African-American spiritual music to demonstrate and encourage unity in the midst of diversity. When you buy a CD (or concert ticket,) you're not just buying an entertaining, inspiring experience that's sure to get you singing and clapping along with us -- you're also contributing to "Service Through Song."
Each year, we raise thousands of dollars for charities such as Habitat for Humanity, the Lakota Nation; organ donors; hospice; palliative care-givers; and HIV/AIDS orphans in Africa. Each year, we give free concerts to such groups as mentally ill adults, homeless women; seniors; disturbed youth; and interfaith conferences.
Our vision is to be a source of inspiration on a local, national, and global level -- and by simply buying our CD's or attending our concerts, you can help make that come true.
We were formed in 1993 when two congregations, one European-American and one African-American, sought to bring together people from different cultures, religions, ages, and backgrounds to celebrate the unity of humanity. Now about 70 members strong, we represent 17 faith traditions, and perform everything from traditional Gospel to new songs composed by our popular and dynamic director, David North.
Here are some of our proud accomplishments:
* We've been nominated for two WAMMY awards by the Washington Area Music Association
* We were selected as a model program by the Clinton Administration's President's Initiative on Race
* We received the coveted Human Rights Award from the Fairfax County Human Rights Commission.
* We have released two CD's, Make Us One and You Oughta Been There.
Enjoy our music, and join us in demonstrating and encouraging unity through diversity.
