Album Notes

Born and raised in Dallas Texas, Moses Uvere was the first born to Patience and Gabriel Uvere, immigrants who came to America to seek the "American Dream."

Being brought up by parents from a different country, Moses witnessed first hand what the "American Dream" was all about - and saw the struggle to achieve a better life. Living in poverty stricken areas, Moses had an up close view of growing up poor; sharing clothes with his brothers, wearing hand me downs, and not getting much during the holidays. Moses was an active kid who always played sports and was a fine football prospect in high school. His sports career was cut short due to the fact that his mom left the family - Moses, the eldest of the four, had to grow up quickly to help his dad raise his two little brothers and his little sister. "The things in my life didn't break me, but made me the man I am today."

Music had always been apart of his life and after being in the group Minority Authority for a few years, Moses struck out on his own. He met up with Dustin Cavazos who produced his latest release, From Worse to Better. The album is a reflection of past experiences that he has seen and lived, and is influenced by artists such as Kanye West, Common, Pigeon John, Issac Hayes, and Musiq Soulchild.

Moses had performed alongside notable artists like Paul Wall, Grits, Playaz Circle, Chingo Bling, Deepspace 5, and Manafest. He has also appeared on the television show "Family Net" with In Touch Ministries and Dr. Charles Stanley, based in Atlanta, Georgia. He was the 2008 West Texas Talent Show winner. He has toured nationally 4 times in the last 2 years with the extreme sports tour (3 times) The Back On My Grind Tour with DJ Promote from syntax records(once) and already has performed in festivals such as Atlanta Fest and O.N.E. Festival.

He will be touring nationally this summer for the Third year. If you would like more info please visit at:

Real Life, Real Situations
author: RecycledSheep.com
Moses Uvere's From Worse to Better is an album about salvation and showing the Gospel. His purpose of the album was not only to give something to the saved, but more importantly to reach the unsaved and those who have never heard of Christ or the Gospel. The albums beats and hooks have the feel of a secular hip-hop album which is intentional. Why? Because Moses' point and purpose with his music is to evangelize and the album does a excellent job of it with tracks like "We Gon Make It" and "Leanin' To The Side" where Moses takes real life situations and struggles and puts them on tracks, as you go through the moments and lyrics the outcome is always salvation in Christ Jesus. I would not classify from Worse To Better as an Apologetics or a Scripture style hip-hop album. Instead I would call this a Life Application album, it takes real life situations that people in despair feel everyday. He paints the safety, glory and peace in Christ through worse and better. Personal Take: This album has not left my CD player since I got it two weeks ago. I have listened to this almost everyday. The Dallas/Texas style of this album is something that I love, if I had to say Moses was similar in style to someone I would say his music has a 116 Clique or Pettidee and the lyrics would be similar to that of GRITS. My favorite track is "We Gon Make It" because Moses does an extrodinary job of painting a picture of someone trying to so hard to do what is right, but yet keeps falling short because they are not living in Christ. He uses these circumstances to show that in our darkest moments and our deepest despair we know that the darkness is not where we want to be. It depicts that in those moments we need to turn to Christ and with Him "We Gon Make It". This album is so awesome it has me wanting to rap again! This artist is not signed to a label so with that being said I would definately recommend this album to anyone interested in hip-hop. I think this would be an excellent Gospel tract.
