These kids are schooled in hard rock and they play their Fenders very well. It's exciting. But not only that, they wrote their songs, about things that matter, like what it's like when there's an earthquake and how it feels to be "Off the charts" and supposedly not tall enough, but feeling great nonetheless. They do broach on matters of hell and heaven. What else--It's Rock and Roll!

Prepubescent rockers, Newsted make Electricitation hum

The first thing you notice about Electricitation is the little voice.
After you get over it, the realization is that you have been tapping your feet and humming along through the whole album. Lyrics are a combination of thoughtful wit and youthful points of view that will make you chuckle. Guitar has a bit of a surf sound. Music is tight and well composed.

The Donnas have got their hands full

The vocalist's voice hasn't changed yet, which is a good thing, given that the Donnas haven't found their soulmates and are still waiting in the high school parking lot. These boys have got the schoolyard blues, and I think the Donnas are just the cure. Push 'em all together with a few hits of blotter and some beers. We'll all feel better in the morning.
