Mother Leeds is named after the mother of the Jersey Devil, the cursed 13th child who transformed into a beast with the head of a goat, wings of a dragon, legs of a horse, and a long forked tail, who flew out the chimney after it was born and has been terrorizing the people of the New Jersey Pine Barrens ever since.
