MotorCity Women consists of six, top-notch Detroit-area female blues singers who take turns belting it out as the lead vocalist, while the other five women provide background harmonies. Detroit Express is a four piece band of Detroit's finest who lay down the potent groove for the women to strut their stuff. All fourteen compositions are penned or co-penned by each of the women, showcasing their broad range of musical genres: blues, funk, rock...in essence, American Roots Music. All songs have a large dose of emotion and heart. The album was produced and engineered by Detroit favorite Motor City Josh, who also adds his killer guitar licks on several tracks, and he wrote or cowrote many of the tunes. This is a collection not to be missed! Every song is an experience and a window into the lives of these blues women!
