Three girls and a guy, this commanding quartet fuses its dark and driving metal sound with feverishly rhythmic punk, and enduring melodies, pushing the envelope by challenging airwaves infested with watered-down, cookie cutter, "alternative" rock. MOTORPSYCHOS formed in 2000 and underwent a line-up shift in late 2003, adding a second guitar, and sharing vocals between the three front-women. The resulting effect was an overall heavier sound, as well as an infectious blend of songwriting, and instrumental and vocal layering. Piston Whipped, MOTORPSYCHOS' second full-length CD, was released in early 2005, to the accolades of their audiences and the media alike. Their music and hard work continue to win the praises of publications on all levels (from the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette to national mag, ROCKRGRL, and international publications, Metal Maidens and Metal Maniacs). Most recently, the MOTORPSYCHOS were winners of the K-Rock, Hard Rock Winter Rock Challenge competing against 107 other bands, the Rolling Rock Hard & Heavy Rock Wars, and national finalists in the Zippo Hot Tour. They also appear regularly at the Warped Tour.
