Album Notes

Read what the Blues Experts are saying about this new SOLO LIVE CD by MOTU:

Interpretive, talented and visionary are all words that can be applied to the stringed fluency of Motu. His playing is fluid, articulate and ripe with personality. From the opening of Bukka White's "In My Time of Dyin'", Rich's smooth, almost lounge-y guitar captures the soul and essence of the works of as diverse range of composers as Jimi Hendrix, Curtis Mayfield, Bo Diddley, Elmore James, Neil Young and Hank Williams. His unique feel, style and breadth are well worth the trip to which these audiences can readily attest. This disk captures that feeling. The Blues Lives!

-The Long Island Blues Society

Motu offers a wide variety of music on this live CD, from his own compositions such as "Time You Should Be Movin' On" to an eclectic group of classic covers by the likes of Reverand Gary Davis, Curtis Mayfield and many more. Overall this is a gutsy, heartfelt CD with good performances and no overdubs. It delivers a bluesy feeling, with warm earthtones, that can take you back to a quiet room on a rainy day.

-The Downstate NY Blues Association
