Mount Olivet Mass Choir Vita

The Mount Olivet Baptist Church, located at 451 West Central Avenue in Saint Paul Minnesota, has been a beacon in the community for over 85 years. In addition to the powerful outreach ministry, Mount Olivet also has one of the finest church music ministries in the U.S.

The Music Ministry of Mount Olivet has eight units, with more than 200 active participants. The rich tradition of beautiful Gospel Music at Mount Olivet spans several decades.

Lifting up God’s name with thunderous praise, the choir has appeared on the stage of several local theaters, including the Ordway, Fitzgerald, Orpheum, and Gutherie. The choirs have performed with such Artists as the late Mahalia Jackson, Daryl Coley, Keith Pringle, The O’neal Twins, and actor James Earl Jones, to name a few.
Mount Olivet has been featured regularly at the Gospel Brunch of the Fine Line Music Café in Minneapolis, MN.

Mount Olivet has participated in Gospel Choirs United, a Twin Cities based Mass Choir, for 33 years. With this choir, they were members of the original cast of the Broadway Musical “Gospel at Colonus”, and the Christmas Musical “Harlem Nutcracker” at Northrop Auditorium.

The choir has appeared in sold out performances of ‘Colors Of Christmas’ at the Ordway Theater; featuring artists James Ingram, Peabo Bryson, Roberta Flack, Marilyn McCoo, Bill Medley, Dione Warwick, Deniece Williams, and Jeffrey Osborne.

Most of all, the choir enjoys praising God’s name in Sunday Morning Worship Services at Mount Olivet.

The Mount Olivet Music Ministy is under the direction of Mr. Carl Clomon, Minister of Music. The pastor of Mount Olivet is Rev. Dr. James Thomas.
