ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
We are a 9-piece anti-orchestra from Grapevine, Texas.

"When the Music Starts is a gloriously uproarious collection of infectious sing-alongs that are heavy on the happy without being sappy." - QUICK DFW

"Love 'em or hate 'em, no other North Texas bands are making music that feels anything like Grapevine's Mount Righteous...One of the year's most impressive freshman efforts and, most likely, the perkiest." - FORT WORTH STAR-TELEGRAM

"...after just one listen-through, each song will have wormed its way into your brain. By the second go-round, you're singing along with each track. And on the third listen, you've brought a friend along to sing with you, it's just so damn catchy." - THE DALLAS OBSERVER

"Mount Righteous are an impossibly happy new group (or small army) that actually writes some pretty memorable songs." - WE SHOT JR

"...group of musicians from Grapevine, Texas that play ANYWHERE, without mics, amps, anything other than their instruments and voices..." - FUTURE SOUNDS

C'mon Everybody, Get Happy!
You simply can't have a bad day if you're listening to this CD. When the Music Starts is fun and uplifting and will have you singing along in no time. Buy two -- you're gonna want to share it with a friend!

Really great CD. I saw them live when they traveled through Long Beach and I just loved em. When I heard the cd it doesn't do them as much justice as the strength and love of their live show, but it is still ludicrously fun music. I wish they had a recording of "You Can't Rollerskate in a Buffalo Herd" on there, cuz that song is a gem.

Love.

This is the band you always wanted to be a part of growing up. Not since Polyphonic Spree has there been an ensemble with such an uplifting tone and chorus. Expect this group to make some serious splashes in the main stream soon!

Happy, happy music
Yellow submarine meet Baz Luhrman...they must be a blast in person!

I ordered this CD on a complete whim. Because whims are good. But not as good as this band. And sentence fragments. No matter how crappy your day has been..."don't worry baby there are cupcakes in the sky."

It's the stuff that just makes you go :)

And that stuff is rare, but it's plentiful on this album. Buuuy iiiit.

Happy party time!!!
This is a fantastically awesome, super sweet buy. Every ditty grabs you and happily boards you on a pleasure cruise into CandyLand. You cannot help but bop along with each track. If you ever get a chance to see them live, do not miss. You will find yourself bouncing and dancing all over the place... Then when they say they are through, beg for limbo. Nothing gets a room together more than a crazy limbo line with the limbo song bopping out of the sousaphone while out-of-shape people contort themselves into tomorrow's sore muscles. Rock on Mount Righteous!

WHAT FUN!
If you feel down, just listen to this album and your spirits will pick right up. Even better, drive to Texas and experience Mount Righteous live and in person! The is one feel-good band.
