Movin' Target has just released their new CD, UnPegged, which has been in process for almost a year. Fueled mostly by the writing of Jim Wyly, Movin' Target, as the name implies, moves around from genre to genre and some instrumental switches as well.
Movin' Target Features "Multiple" lead singers, rich instrumental mixes and several creative songwriters. The original material is clever and home-spun, covering the classic love songs to the thoughtful front porch philosophies that anyone can identify with, blending sounds of Americana, Roots, Rock, Country and R&B.
"We're very confident about our original music because we started off playing in bars where covers are king, and we got away with playing mostly original songs right from the start", says band leader Jim Wyly..
Austin,Texas based, all members reside in the Central Texas area.
Jim Wyly and his band of renegades are all songwriters and the list of original music coming from these guys in the future is long and deep. "We have enough material right now to fill several albums. So expect a lot of surprises from us in the days ahead. We will not be tied down in a rat hole for anyone", says Jim Wyly.

great original music

OK, I haven't listened to the whole CD yet, but "Unpegged" had me from Track 1: "Club Alright" with its driving percussion, catchy lyric, and really decent lead vocal. About half way thru the album, the vocals weren't quite as consistent, but the energy and beat were still satisfying as was the recording quality.
That's as far as I've listened so far, but I wanted to post, and be first! Basically, at the halfway mark, for its energy, fun, unique-in-a-mature-way sound, nice production, and interesting writing, Jim Wyly and Movin Target's album "Unpegged" is a treat to listen to. Better than many singer-songwriter, live-band-act CDs I've heard. Oh, and a great excuse to turn off the cell phone, roll down the car windows, crank up the music, and drive around aimlessly. :)
