Original drummer for "The Samples" travels to Jamaica with acoustic guitar and drum machine to record experimental dancehall/hiphop/party music with jamaica's premiere musicians including Bounty Killer, Sly and Robbie, Michael Rose(from Black Uhuru), Dave Wakeling(from The English Beat) and many more. This album is a one-of-a-kind sonic vibe for chilling by the beach or poolside
"This has been the coolest experience of my life as a musician..." says Jeep. "There is so much life and spontanaeity in all of the performances....These guys are all my heros and i'm still blown away with the performances they delivered... Nothing was planned... The entire experience was like something out of National Geographic....I stayed at Cutty's house and woke up every day with him blasting tunes and toasting lyrics in his boxers....eating ackee and saltfish with Michael Rose at his place.....smoking spliffs with Dr. Innocent in Cutty's back yard under the palm trees....playing a live session with Sly&Robbie...The list goes on and on".

This is good stuff

I've always been a huge fan of the Samples, and especially Jeep. This CD proves he's not only an amazing drummer, but a hugely talented musician all around. I was blown away the first time I heard this - it's completely creative and different from jeep's other stuff, yet still keeps that "cool and easy" vibe - I love the reggae, hip/hop influence, killer grooves, nice melodies, good production -especially "Swing" - highly recommended!

never heard anything like it. shits therapeautic, has a certain epiphany like feel to it every time you play it. (particulary "swing") some quality production plus there are 4 or 5 really good songs that stand out. I'd buy the shit.

Super Cool Reggae Grooves!
author: Monte Horst
The only reason I give this only 4 stars is that I am not particularly a reggae fan. My wife IS a big reggae fan. That fact, along with me being a huge Samples and Jeep fan, spurred me to purchase this disc. My wife loves it and I like it a lot, just not as much as Jeep's other discs, which I score all 5's! This disc is one of our favorite albums to throw on when we're entertaining or just sitting outside and sipping some spring/summer cocktails. I highly recommend it.
